| Brief summary of Trust from 1997-2007 (C) |
- The Trust was established on 28-07-1997. (Retd) Chief Justice Harbans Singh ji was founder President. Due to continuous illness he relinquished the charge in favour of Dr. Kharak Singh Ji in Jun. 2003. Thereafter, Dr. Kharak Singh Ji remained President till his demise on 06-08-2008. S. Mohinder Singh is continuing Secretary-cum-Treasurer since establishment of the Trust.
- With special efforts of Dr Kharak Singh Ji, an Endowment Fund of Rs. 21.00 lakhs was created in 1997 with SGPC contribution of Rs. 15.00.lakhs + few other individual donations.
- After extensive survey in 1997-98, certain pockets of Vanjaras’ concentrations were identified to launch welfare schemes in coordination with few state-level effective Gurmat Missions. Exclusive aim was for promoting awareness, counselling, basic/higher education scholarships, vocational trade trainings for their economic rehabilitation in self-employment & gainful jobs.
- Fully financed Welfare Centres were started to achieve objectives in six states like Madhya Pradesh (Khandwa, lndore & Bhopal), Hyderabad (AP), Rajasthan (Kota, Nanta, Bundi, Raipur), Maharashtra (Nagpur, Chandernagar), Bangalore (Karnataka), Dehra Dun (Kudri Khera), Mohali (Jhampur) & Chandigarh (Maloya) from years 1997-2007. Each centre was usually financed with training equipments & teachers salary grant varying Rs. 30-40,000/- every year.
- Two free Gurdham Yatras for over 150 Vanjara families from M.P.& Rajasthan arranged during 2003-04 & 2005-06 @ Rs.2.00 lakhs, to all pilgrimage places in Punjab/Haryana/Delhi.
- Rs. I.50 lakhs contributed for Sikligars Housing Colony’s Vocational trainings at Bangalore.
- 0ne year Auto Diploma Course conducted for 10 Sikligar students of Maharashtra at GNVB Polytechnic, Mohali, & rehabilitated in their self-employed ventures. 30 weaker-sections girls were also trained in tailoring/embroidery – all at total cost of over Rs.4.00 lakh during 2004 to 2006.
- More than 1200 girls trained in Tailoring Centres at above stations for their self-employment.
- Under Punjabi University, Patiala, “Golden Heart Scholarship” scheme, 5 rural students were sponsored for 10+2 to Engg. degree, 6-years package tuition fee @ Rs. 8.24 lakhs in 2005-06.
- Donated Rs. 25,000.00 to Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kendra, Sector-28, Chandigarh, in2006.
11. I.O.S.S. granted Rs. 25,000.00 for writing Vanjara History Book on 20-06-07- no progress
12. Starting of Vanjara Institute pursued with Hazur Sahib Board during Gurtagaddi celebrations.
- Overall coordination/career counseling/monitoring organized at various field camps & project’s accounting is being conducted by the Secretary of Trust through personal supervision.

- In 2001 : Rs. L.50 Lakhs Grant To (Late) Dr. Satnam Singh, Gurmat Mission, Jabalpur, For Education.
- Between 2001-2004 : Started Four Schools In Rajasthan (Kota.Bundi,Nanta & Raipur)/Career Camps & 2nd• Gurdham Yatra For 55-Rajasthan Vanjaras. 6-No.Vanjaras Assisted For Education & Medical In Collaboration With Guru Nanak Welfare Society, Kota, @ Total Grants Of Rs.2.20 Lakhs.
- Between 2003-05 :Two Girls Tailoring-Cum-Education Centers With Equipment At Nagpur + One Year Auto-Mechanic Course At Mohali For 6-Vanjara Students Of Maharashtra & Rehabilitating Them In Self employed Units At Their Villages In Collaboration Of With S. Malkit Singh Sagoo, An SGPC Member And President, Gurmat Parchar Sanstha, Nagpur, @ Total Grants Of Rs. 6.00 Lakhs During These Years.
- 2003-04 Till Date:Girls Tailoring-Cum-Education & Music Center Continuing At V. Kudri Khera, Dehra Dun, In Collaboration With Bhai Sadhu Singh Ragi With Grant Release @ Rs.30,000/-Per Year.
- 2003 To 2005 :Contributed Grant Of Rs. L.42 Lakhs For Starting Tailoring Centre With Equipments & Promoting Vocational Training For 10 Boys Of Sikligar Housing Colony – Built Under Joint Collaboration Of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council, Delhi & Karnataka Sikh Welfare Society, Bangalore.
- 2003-04 Till To Date : Contributing Annually Over Rs.1.00 Lakh To Share 60% Cost Of Running A 700 Vanjaras Children School At Preet Nagar, Ludhiana, & Also Affording Vocational Trainings To Girls In Tailoring/Computer, Etc., In Collaboration With Guru Angad Dev Educational & Welfare Council.
- Between 2004-2006 :Donated Package Fee (For 6 Years) Rs.12.32 Lakhs For Education Of 7 Rural Students Under Golden Heart Scholarship Scheme Of Punjabi University, For 10+2 To Four Years Engineering Degree Course At Yadavindra College Of Engineering, Talwandi Sabo, Bhatinda.
- Ln 2004-05 :Girls Tailoring/Educational Centre/Career Camp & Grant Of Auto Bike @ Rs 31,000/ To A Handicap Sikligar Artisan At V. Maloya, Chandigarh,. With Total Expenditures Of Rs. 1.00 Lakh.
- 3/2009 :Conducted Gurdham-Cum-Heritage Yatra For 56 Maharshtra/Gujarat Vanjaras.
